Challenge to hold the most weight Toothpick Bridge Challenge to hold the most weight

The Challenge To design and build a bridge made only of toothpicks and Elmers glue. You bridge must span a distance of 8 inches Sand will be used as a weight to test the bridge

Research Bridge Structure

Consider the Following What shape is the strongest? What style of bridge will support the most weight? Think about where you want the weight to be attached.

Adding the Weight

Toothpick Bridges Build a bridge using only toothpicks and elmer's glue

Building Tips Use less glue. It dries quicker and holds better. Use trusses, they are a strong support structure. Develop a plan. Work the plan.
