SNB 2017-2018 Pre-Season Survey Survey Respondents Disappointing response to survey, with only 430 taking part out of request that was sent to a membership base of over 15,000 Future surveys will be targeting specific audience to assist in better response and feedback and easier to interpret results i.e. make separate specific survey for Nippers as an example

Main Drivers for SNB Surf Sports SNB 2017-2018 Pre-Season Survey Main Drivers for SNB Surf Sports Top driver for surf sports in SNB was Enhancing Surf Life Saving Education & Skills (35%) Weighted Average saw 4 key drivers Enhancing Surf Life Saving Skills Camaraderie/Friendship Maintaining physical fitness General Competition

Number of Pre-Xmas Carnivals SNB 2017-2018 Pre-Season Survey Number of Pre-Xmas Carnivals Clear indication that 4 or less events preferred before Christmas

Hours Spent at Normal Surf Sports Event SNB 2017-2018 Pre-Season Survey Hours Spent at Normal Surf Sports Event Clear indication that 4 or less hours is the preferred amount of time to spend at a normal surf sports event

Restrictions on Teams Per Club SNB 2017-2018 Pre-Season Survey Restrictions on Teams Per Club Fairly clear indication that no restrictions on the number of teams per club should be imposed For those wanting teams number restrictions, the consensus was that 2 teams per club would be the limit

Nippers Beach & Water Separate Events SNB 2017-2018 Pre-Season Survey Nippers Beach & Water Separate Events 11% more respondents in favour of having Nippers run as separate Beach and Water events Comments highlighted added load on clubs for example for age managers and the need to address added loss of regular Sunday Nippers for normal Surf Education programs

Exclusion of U8s from Carnivals SNB 2017-2018 Pre-Season Survey Exclusion of U8s from Carnivals 7% more respondents in favour of keeping U8s in carnivals Comments show that this age group is a good introduction to competitive surf, but still very much a non-competitive age and should focus on fun
