“Measuring Speed Using Movie Maker and Image J” Summary: Students will use video of objects in motion to calculate speed with the help of MovieMaker and Image J. Pre-Assessment (Before Lab) What is distance? What is displacement? What is the similarity/difference? What is speed? What is velocity? What is the similarity/difference? What is acceleration? Results/Conclusions (After Lab) How does using a video recorder and computer tools improve our ability to measure speed (as opposed to using our own eyes and stopwatches)? Did you measure average speed or instantaneous speed? How could you use these tools to measure acceleration?
