Ms. Marcus’ Class 3rd Grade - Room 237 October 3, 2016 Thank you for being such a wonderful support to the classroom during last week! The class has been busy wrapping up the addition and subtraction unit during math classes. The children have been getting used to going to different teachers to receive math instructions that match their academic competency. Your children have been learning to grasp the main ideas and to draw conclusions of different passages during reading and writing classes. The children have been learning a lot about the moon during science lessons. The children worked on their self-portraits during art lesson. The children learned about the reasons why there are more population in some cities than others during social studies. What's Coming Up? The children took their end of unit one test on Monday. The children will be introduced to the world of multiplication in unit two. Once they take the unit two pre-test, the children will be once again divided into their respectable groups according to their academic competency. The children will work on writing narratives by practicing on coming up with a topic and gathering evidence and supporting ideas for this topic. The children will also work on developing their main ideas for the topics they may choose to write for their reading and writing lessons. The rotations will still go on. Please see next to see what they will be learning about during rotations. Rotations Monday - I will be teaching Social Studies! Continuation of geography and human settlement Tuesday - Art and Ms. Zeigler will continue with the children’s self-portraits! Wednesday - Science and Mr. Gilbert will teach the features of the Earth! Thursday – Extra Science taught by Ms. Petersen. She will teach the features of the Moon.
