Understanding Career ClusterS Career Cluster Interest Inventory Understanding Career ClusterS

What is CCII? The Career Cluster Interest Inventory (CCII) is designed to help you determine which Career Cluster best fits your interests and skills. Before you begin the survey, let’s get a better understanding of the Career Clusters.

Understanding Career Clusters Developed by the U.S. Department of Education, the 16 Career Clusters are designed to group jobs and industries as they relate to skills needed or products produced. Basically, the clusters are a way to organize the “world of work.”

Career Clusters Include Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources Architecture & Construction Arts, A/V Technology & Communications Business, Management & Administrations Education & Training Finance Government & Public Administration Health Science

Career Clusters Include Hospitality & Tourism Human Services Information Technology Law, Public Safety, Corrections & Security Manufacturing Marketing Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics Transportation, Distribution & Logistics

Career Cluster Interest Inventory Completing the survey

Completing the Survey You will begin by reading 80 statements and choosing from the following responses regarding your interest concerning the statement. This should take you 15 to 20 minutes. Dislike Uncertain Like Like very much

Completing the Survey To access the survey, simply click on the interactive link found below the lesson viewer entitled Career Cluster Interest Inventory Survey. After completing the survey, the CCII ranks and graphs your most applicable Career Clusters from a high of 15 (most interested) to a low of 0 (least interested) depending on how you responded to statements related to each Career Cluster.

Applying Results Let’s say your top three Career Cluster interests were as follows: Arts, A/V Technology & Communications Business, Management & Administrations Marketing

Applying Results Now that you know your top Career Clusters, watch the corresponding career exploration video that accompanies your top three cluster results. For this example, you would watch the following videos and complete the corresponding Projects and Activities. Career Cluster: Arts, A/V Technology & Communications Career Cluster: Business, Management & Administrations Career Cluster: Marketing
