What is Chemical Potential Energy? Potential energy stored within the chemical bonds of an object
What is Kinetic Energy? Energy an object has due to its motion K.E. = .5(mass x speed2)
Pendulum A simple pendulum consists of a string, cord, or wire that allows a suspended mass to swing back and forth (oscillate). The categorization of "simple" comes from the fact that all of the mass of the pendulum is concentrated in its "bob“ (plumb bob) - or suspended mass.
Pendulum System
Oscillation is the repetitive variation, typically in time, of some measure about a central value (often a point of equilibrium) or between two or more different states --- a single swing (as of an oscillating body) from one extreme limit to the other and back to the start of the system.
Period of Oscillation is the smallest interval of time in which a system undergoing an oscillation returns to the state it was in at a time chosen as the beginning of the oscillation.
