Aaron Huggins I’ve been working as a freelance concept artist finding work online through freelancing websites such as Upwork during my sandwich year. As well as concept art, i’ve also created 3D assets, rigs, animations, levels and Blueprint in UE4 for my clients. Aaron provided and extraordinarily impressive level of support, insight and anticipation, quickly producing an effective working interactive demo The be inspired project Why did you join? For support and funding How has it benefited your company? The funding gave me the best equipment. Upgraded my PC when it failed and helped me obtain software licenses. Without this, starting my business would of had a much larger initial cost. What have been the best bits of the programme? The support (The finance training at the beginning was what I needed the most) and funding The advice I have been given though the monthly talks and mentorship has pushed me to try harder and helped me overcome obstacles What advice would you give graduates considering applying for be inspired? Starting a business has risks. If you’re serious about starting a business, those risks will be seriously reduced if you join the be inspired scheme. What have you learned about yourself whilst on the programme? Taking risks are scary, but when you pull it off, it makes the victory all the more satisfying The Future I still have my final year of Uni to go, I plan to pick my freelancing career back up starting next summer full time while also merging with other freelancers to form a small game studio company.
