In this exercise, you will learn how to: sketch on the vertex, sketch a 2D shapes, set desired dimensions using Smart Cursor, Extrude 2D to 3D, Place Parts @ desired spacing by Copying Entities, Apply Appearances-Color
Select and Sketch a Corner Rectangle on the Vertex
Select Smart Dimension, and set the opposing sides @ 2”
Go to your Menu Bar, and click on the down arrow that is associated command entitled “Move Entities” next select the tool named “Copy Entities”, go to your Property Manager and select the table named Entities to Copy, and select all four sides of the square , next check the parameters to From/To and then click in the box names starting point, then click on the lower right side of the box and begin to place the copied squared to make a checker board

In the Command Manager, Click on the Features Tab, and select the Extrude Function and select all shapes in the “Selected Contours” tables highlighted, lower left hand Column, (Property Manager) Set depth @ 2”, then click on green check
Go to your Menu Bar, click on Edit and select the Appearance tool , appearance again, then right click on the highlighted table and select clear selection and click select faces , first button, scroll down select color and then click on desired face to change color.
