Visual Analysis

When analyzing a visual . . . Two big questions: What do I see? What does it mean?

Terms to know . . . Focal Point: The part of an image that draws the eye of the viewer to the most important part of the image. Rule of thirds: divide image into tic-tac-toe. Intersection points are where eye naturally looks

What I see . . . When analyzing a visual, consider these . . . Objects: What objects are on the page? Notice everything Color: What colors are used? Are they soft or bold? Arrangement: Where are items placed? What is the focal point? Symbols: Do objects look like something you have seen before? Do they represent something that is not pictured? Font: What color is the font? How big is it? Where is it? Slogan: What strong words are used? What does the slogan mean?
