Level 5 Speech Class The Physical Message

The Physical Message includes 4 skill areas.

The way we stand and position our whole body. Posture The way we stand and position our whole body.

Where we look to keep in touch with the audience as we speak. Eye Contact Where we look to keep in touch with the audience as we speak.

How we move our hands to support Gestures How we move our hands to support our words.

The way we change the tone of our voice to emphasize key words. Voice Inflection The way we change the tone of our voice to emphasize key words.

Why is a good physical message important? *an enthusiastic message *a confident message *a positive message *an energetic message *an enthusiastic message

Posture is the foundation of the Physical Message.

If your posture is solid, you look confident. Solid posture = confident

Have a solid foundation!

If your posture is weak, you look nervous and unsure. Weak posture = nervous and unsure

A weak foundation will bring you disaster.

Good eye contact gives you valuable feedback from the audience.
