ECE 4006-C Presentation the almost Last (10th) Group 6 Dominic Saltarelli

Overview Received connectorized PD April 11th. Built and tested Reciever Ordered Second Board design Continued issues with Transmitter Getting new board on Friday Write Paper

Receiver Baseline D21.5

Receiver Baseline K28.5

Receiver Baseline K28.7

Receiver Baseline PRBS7

Receiver Sensitivity 5 dB attenuation

Receiver Alignment Tolerance Hamamatsu Unconnectorized PD. Approx 1.5 mm separation between fiber and lens.

Second Board (has been ordered)

Problems with Transmitter Laser orientation, too easy to get it backwards. Heat damage to parts, board, and chip from resoldering. Traces come loose from resoldering. Part availability. Didn’t receive PD till recently, shortage of fresh capacitors Ground plane shorts too easily.

Receive new board Friday. Anticipated progress Receive new board Friday. Have fresh components available, and be *much* more careful in assembly. Measure loop back, sensitivity, output levels and crosstalk of improved design and then compare performance of previous design results. Write Paper
