Hello: Sit with your group Monday, September 12, 2016 Agenda: Finish presentations and reading notes New assigned seats Assessment format HOMEWORK: Take 15-20 minutes to study for your assessment (WILL be on WEDNESDAY) Google Classrooom study session: 6:30-7:00 PM Standards: 5.1 Students describe the major pre- Columbian settlements, including the cliff dwellers and pueblo people of the desert Southwest, the American Indians of the Pacific Northwest, the nomadic nations of the Great Plains, and the wood-land peoples east of the Mississippi River. 5.1.3 Students describe the major pre-Columbian settlements, including explaining their varied economies and systems of government. Learning Goal: To identify why different European countries colonized the Americas. To begin to make a judgement on how America was colonized.

Essential questions: Should Native American tribes be considered a civilizations? How would you assess the colonization of the Americas?
