Knapp Elementary Mr. Boggs’ 3rd Grade Class Week of December 1st, 2014 Dear Families, The students will have their opportunity to visit the Holiday Shop this Thursday from 9:30-10:15 in the learning center. The students were given a shopping envelope before they went on break that will need to be filled out and returned to school on Thursday. This will help their shopping experience run much smoother. Thank you! Sincerely, Mr. Boggs Reading We will be starting a new story on Wednesday in reading entitled, What Do Illustrators Do? In this informational text, students will be asked to look for details that support facts, the way the information is organized, and how illustrations help explain the topic. Look for the students to have their test over this reading selection late next week. Spelling The spelling words for Lesson 7 will be sent home on Wednesday. Please continue to study these words with your child throughout the week. The students will have their test over these words late next week. Math: We will dive back into division this week and work on using related multiplication facts to solve division problems. It is essential that students continue to practice their multiplication facts as they are the foundation for a successful understanding of division. Homework will be sent home throughout the week to reinforce these skills. Social Studies: Biome diorama projects are due this Wednesday, December 3rd. Please remind your child to bring back their Student Reference Book and Research Notes packet as well. Parents may drop off the project Wednesday morning at school if a student is unable to carry it on the bus. We will begin presenting the projects on Wednesday!
