Pre-AP English 9 Monday, October 3rd, 2016 Seats: sit next to someone you have not yet worked with in English class this year!

Entry Task On a ½ sheet of paper, write your name, and answer these questions. 1-2 sentences each: What is the age of the narrator in “Marigolds” What is the context of the narrator in “Marigolds” What is the preference(s) of the narrator in “Marigolds”

Review Chart on Page 23 Turn and talk with your partner – compare your examples of diction and imagery. What do you notice? Same? Different? Talk about your observations and inferences! Add to your notes as you and your partner talk  Until 12:37

Review Chart Cont. Look at the left column of the chart (the pre-filled in part). What do you notice? What stays the same all the way throughout the story? What changes? When? Why?
