Figure 1 Glucagon and Thyroid Hormone T3 Have Beneficial Effects on Energy Expenditure and Dyslipidemia As monotherapies these hormones also produce deleterious effects, including hyperglycemia for glucagon and cardiomyopathy and bone loss for T3. Finan et. al. synthesized glucagon/T3, a covalent peptide-small molecule fusion of glucagon and T3, that retains the beneficial characteristics of these individual hormones while avoiding negative side effects.
