HURRICANES ARE A HEAT ENGINE, TRANSFERRING HEAT FROM THE OCEAN TO THE ATMOSPHERE. HEAT COMES IN VIA WARM WATER AND IS EXHAUSTED OUT THE TOP INTO THE UPPER TROPOSPHERE AND LOWER STRATOSPHERE. SOME AIR SINKS INTO THE EYE OF THE STORM CREATING CLEAR AND CALM CONDITIONS.
