Presentation transcript:

Simple Inheritance Brown Hair is dominant. What are the odds of two heterozygous individuals having a child that is also heterozygous for brown hair? If a couple have 20 kids and they are all heterozygous for brown hair, use a Punnett square to show the most likely genotypes of the parents.

Co-Dominance A certain species of moth is orange, black, or both orange and black. A black moth and a black-orange moth produce 200 offspring. How many of each possible phenotype can you expect?

Incomplete Inheritance Mice come in three varieties – black, gray, and white. Two gray mice mate and produce 20 offspring. How many white mice will they most likely produce?

X-Linked Hemophilia is an x-linked recessive disorder. Mom is a carrier and dad does not have hemophilia. What are the odds their daughters have hemophilia? What about their sons?

Blood Typing A CSI team is investigating a crime scene. Video shows four people entering and exiting during the hour of the crime. Alfred, Bertha, Charles, and Denise were seen and have mysterisouly all left town. The CSI team tracked down their parents. Alfred’s parents have AO and AB blood. Bertha’s has AA and AO. Charles has AB and OO. Denise’s parents have AB and AB. If type AB blood is found at the crime scene, which suspects can be ruled out?
