DELFT LINKS Sharing knowledge in redeveloping historic city centers. Both between cities as towards inhabitants. Focus on redevelopment of traditional buildings in order to save energy and to stimulate re-use of cultural heritage. Exchanging experiences in pilot projects (like BK-city and Foundation the White Rose) Develop an integral policy together with all stakeholders, inhabitants, heritage organisations and renovation professionals. (The local support group)

URBACT/LINKS Integral development Urban scale Technical aspects Social aspects Economic aspects

Pilot project Red Chemistry Re-use faculty building

Pilot project Renovation De witte Roos, 16th/18th century house Center for sustainable living

CONCLUSION LINKS Integral development is important for the sustainable development of city centers and built heritage. There is a high demand for knowledge exchange on both energy use reduction and built heritage. Both professional as for owners of buildings. Built heritage can be used as an initiator for area development.
