Introduction Main goal: Describing how your experiences and education are relevant for the position Got to impress 2 people: the computer and the recruiter (30 sec to impress them) To the point yet descriptive Don’t lie- not worth it!

Formatting Length: 1 Page Margins: Typically 1 inch but can be half-inch if needed Font: Between size 10-12 (Headings can be larger than bullet points) Consistent. Use a plain-type font like times-new roman Black Spacing: Constant Good Quality Paper Chronological Order (typically). Functional also works

Heading + (Objective)

Education

Relevant Experience You probably won’t have enough room to fit in all the information that you want to. Select the most relevant and industry-specific points to highlight. Include as many leadership positions, volunteering, and teamwork as possible. Make use of specific key words relevant to your major. (control, analysis, excel, reviewed, etc.) Can also include customer service positions (waiter, cashier, or customer service representative)

Recruiters want to see that you do more than just go to class Soft skills For example: Team work, Communication, Community Help etc.. Stand out here. You’re more than just a Junior!

Very helpful online tool for quick, free analysis of your resumé. Submit, get feedback, and submit again until you have the perfect version of your resume. Student tested, Penn State Approved! Can help detect flaws an automated system would pick up on and therefore cause it to discard the resumé. Why does it sound like Im suddenly advertising a cereal box?
