If you enjoyed this PowerPoint, there are many, many more – with guided note sheets available on my website: studentsofhistory.org! Membership there gets you immediate access to EVERY one of my World or US History resources (over 600!!) with one subscription! Unfortunately, the nature of TpT does not lend itself to including guided note sheets with PowerPoints. The only way to do so is through zipped files, which cause confusion and frustration for many buyers. As a result, I am only offering them on my website or by purchasing a Complete Curriculum package. Apologies to those of you who are who cannot access them this way.

Britain puts down rebellion but takes over direct control of India Rebellion of Sepoys (Indian soldiers) against the British East India Company Britain puts down rebellion but takes over direct control of India Sepoys were supposedly inspired to rebel by a rumor that animal fat was used in their rifle cartridges (which they would need to bite off to load the rifle. This offended both Hindus and Muslims. However, they had long been antagonistic against British control over their country. Picture shows an execution of a Sepoy by “Blowing from a gun”. Later, the Indian National Congress would be founded to push for Indian independence.

The 8 Nation Alliance consisted of Japan, Russia, Great British, France, the United States, Germany, Italy and Austria-Hungary.
