What is Internet? The Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks that use the standard Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP) to serve billions of users worldwide.

It is a network of networks that consists of millions of private, public, academic, business, and government networks.

The prevalent language for communication on the Internet is English with 30% of Web visitors. Follow: Chinese (14 %), Japanese (8%), Spanish (8%), German, French (5%). By continent, 36% of the world's Internet users are based in Asia, 29% in Europe, and 21% in North America.

e-mail E-mail is based on a store-and-forward model in which e-mail computer server systems accept, forward, deliver and store messages on behalf of users, who only need to connect to the e-mail infrastructure, typically an e-mail server, with a network-enabled device (e.g., a personal computer) for the duration of message submission or retrieval.

World Wide Web Another common use of the Internet (maybe the most important one) is the World Wide Web. The World Wide Web (commonly abbreviated as the "Web") is a system of interlinked, hypertext documents accessed via the Internet.
