Comments for 2 surveys processed in 2015 Zimbabwe: The Zimbabwean dollar was demonetised in 2015. The PPPs are now expressed in United States dollar (One of the currencies now used for all transactions in Zimbabwe) Venezuela: P2P Venezuela rejected. Problem with Group 4, BH19 (Water), BH20 (Electricity), BH21 (Gas) & BH22 (solid Fuel), 2 covered but prices rejected, impossibility to estimate PPP on group 4.

How many CCs were updated using P2P or PPPs ? 26 DS covered by UN P2Ps 7 DS covered by OECD PPPs 4 DS covered by ESTAT ECP PPPs (EFTA+Turkey) +5 DS covered by ESTAT ECP PPPs (Balkans) Total: 42 DS, representing 1/3 of all the Extra-EU DS, have had their CC updated and adjusted.

Consumer Price Indexes (CPI): HICP

Currencies used (120) in Extra-EU:

Capital and non-capital city. Staff regulation Chapter 4 Article 9: request by the appropriate authorities of the Member State concerned, the administration of an institution of the Union or the representatives of officials of the Union in a given place of employment showing that the cost of living in that place is no longer significantly different (less than 2 %) from that in the capital of the Member State concerned. Such convergence should be sustainable and validated by Eurostat.

Duty Stations candidate:

CC Bosnia – Sarajevo / Banja-Luka (Distance 197Km)

CC Indonesia Jakarta / Banda Aceh (Distance 2600 Km)

CC Switzerland Geneva / Bern (Distance 160 Km)

CC USA Washington / New York (Distance 360 Km)

Conclusion for non-capital city selected None of the duty stations presented here met the criteria where the cost of living would be any longer significantly different (less than 2%) from that in the capital of the MS concerned. The case Switzerland was already debated. It is justified to have one CC common to Geneva and Bern.

New Extra-EU duty stations Two new duty stations are added to the list of Extra-EU Delegations (Still subject to "delegated act" from the Commission, in accordance with Art 111 and 112 of the Staff Regulations) Iran – Teheran (Capital city, delegated act will be validated) Iraq – Erbil (Not capital city, delegated act pending) There are now 145 Extra-EU duty stations

Survey in Taipei (Taiwan) Taipei is one of the duty stations that: Is not covered by UN or the ISRP Was not surveyed since 2009. A P2P had to be organised through a call for tender. The winner was EIU (Economist Intelligence Unit, based in London) The P2P is being run, right now. Results should be entered in next Result Package (Feb>July 2016)
