How To Use This Tutorial Welcome to the Ambulatory PowerChart tutorial for Front Desk Staff This tutorial will illustrate functions in PowerChart for Ambulatory Front Desk Staff Members

Reminders Before completing this tutorial, you should have completed the following CBT prerequisite training Ambulatory PowerChart Basics Tutorial Ambulatory Patient Lists Tutorial Ambulatory Task Management Tutorial At the end of this tutorial the Ambulatory PowerChart for Front Desk Staff Competency will be administered A score of 80% or higher will be required to obtain PowerChart access

Front Desk Workflow Enter Quick Notes into PowerChart Nickname Check In Check Out Enter Quick Notes into PowerChart Nickname Family Members Enter Patient Pharmacy Print Intake Medication List Allow guardian to verify medications Give any Age Appropriate Forms Well visits only View Multi Patient Task List Check for follow up appointments Make appointment if necessary Complete task on Multi Patient Task List Check visit information tab on all patients Use EPIC End of Day to change providers if needed

PowerChart QuickNotes QuickNotes allow users to capture pertinent information about patients and their families This data will be seen by Clinical Staff and Physician Staff to help better serve a patients visit

PowerChart QuickNotes Quick Notes can be viewed and entered on the Ambulatory Summary Chart Tab Select the Launch QuickNote Form hyperlink from the QuickNotes widget

PowerChart QuickNotes If the QuickNotes page opens with no data, your patient has never had a QuickNotes filled out and it will be your responsibility to capture as much information as possible If the QuickNotes page opens with some carried over data, you will be responsible to update as necessary

QuickNotes The Quick Notes free text field should be captured for any additional pertinent information about patient or family Please keep in mind that information captured on this screen should be factual and not opinion based. No information should be saved that would be considered inappropriate in nature.

PowerChart QuickNotes To save the PowerForm, select the Green Check Mark located on the upper most left corner of the form. To exit the form and NOT save any charting, select the Blue Discontinue circle or the Red X.

Patient Preferred Pharmacy Patients can specify a preferred pharmacy to have prescriptions, written by our physician staff, electronically sent for pickup Front Desk Staff has the ability to capture this information

How to Add A Preferred Pharmacy Open your patient’s chart Select the Patient Pharmacy button on your toolbar

How to Search for a Preferred Pharmacy Search for the pharmacy by entering the name, city, state, and/or zip code When the desired pharmacy is located, right-click and select Add The pharmacy will now be added to the Preferred Pharmacy Tab

Preferred Pharmacy Patients can store up to six pharmacies on their electronic medical record On the Patient Preferred tab, right clicking on saved pharmacies will give you the following options: Delete This option will delete the pharmacy from the patients electronic medical record Set As Default This option will set the saved pharmacy as the default for the patient

Reprinting Requisitions If the patient, parent, or guardian requests a requisition be reprinted because it has become lost or misplaced, front desk staff can reprint

How to Reprint Requisitions To reprint a requisition, consent form, or order sheet complete the following steps: With the patient’s chart open, open the PowerOrders Chart Tab Find the order from the existing orders profile Right-click the order and select Print Choose the appropriate submenu command When prompted, enter the ID of your printer, click OK

Printing CMG/CSG Intake Medication List To Print the Medication List, complete the following steps: With the patient’s chart open, click the Task button, located on the upper left corner of your screen Select Reports Choose the appropriate report (place a checkmark in the box) Select a printer destination using the dropdown list Select Print

How to Complete a Task on the Multi-Patient Task List Click on the Multi-Patient Task List toolbar button Locate Patient and Task Click on the Yellow (Chart Done) Follow up Appointment Click on the Ok Button to confirm that you made a Follow up Appointment for your patient The task will then display in a Complete status with a green check mark
