Looking for help in the wrong places can prove costly: Big Time!

Eve took the fruit . . . Adam followed suit.

Paradise was lost in the blink of an eye.

From King David the murderer . . . to Judas the traitor . . . to Saul the persecutor . . .

All these men were looking for help, for hope, for renewal—looking in all the wrong places for something to make life better.

Where do you go when you are looking for something to make life better?

Real men . . . take the edge off chemically, adopt a me-first attitude, drown themselves in work, sports, hobbies. (Or DO they?)

Fixes like these fall short . . . every time!

We’ve all been there, looking for renewal in all the wrong places, all but One of us.

Our Savior, Jesus Christ, was born to be our fix, our one true source of renewal and hope.

They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles . . . Isaiah 40:31

† Psalm 119:32 † Psalm 86:11 † Psalm 18:2

We thank all the men here today— fathers, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, coaches, and other father-figures for pointing all of us, especially our children and our families, to Jesus.

Jesus—and he alone— provides the renewal we need. He is here for us, for now and forever!
