EOC Warmup (yes, put this in your EOC binder ) Remember when we looked at different forms of IRONY (situational, dramatic, verbal) in The Crucible? **hint: The poppet that was a “gift” for Elizabeth** List out the three forms of Irony and see if you remember a definition the, give an example for all three Please pickup the handout on the podium

Situational When what actually happens is the exact opposite of what is expected.

Dramatic When the reader understands more about the events of a story than a character. You know something that a character doesn’t. Like how the poppet had the needle in it

Verbal A character says one thing but means the opposite Also called sarcasm or being sarcastic.

Group work-How did she die?! You grabbed the handout on the podium, lets go over it! You can work together, but everyone needs to write their own answers down.
