Topic: Bluegrass Get Away Brainstorming Aug 14 Topic: Bluegrass Get Away Brainstorming Underneath the shady pine tree By the gentle relaxing pond Throughout the day Away from it all With my rod and reel Out of pocket Apart from the hustle and bustle Of a busy world Under the open sky at night Without technology Except for my dumb cell phone Because of my need For physical and mental healing

In the following poem about a bluegrass get away there are 9 prepositional phrases.

Mr. Pyle’s Bluegrass Get Away Underneath the shady pine tree By the gentle relaxing pond Apart from the hustle and bustle of a busy world Out of pocket With technology Except for my dumb cell phone Because of my need For physical and mental healing I enjoy camping, fishing, and bluegrass-bluegrass-bluegrass

Aug 26 On the next slide there is a picture. You are to write your thoughts about this picture in your writing journal. Do not stop writing. A timer will be set for 10 minutes. When it goes off you may write for two more minutes or stop writing. Write as many thoughts as you can. You may even begin a great short story or even a great poem. Be creative.

Aug 26 Makeup due to absence Aug 26 Makeup due to absence. Looking at the picture on the preceding slide you will write your thoughts on the picture in 50 words or more.

Sep 4 Writing Prompt: Throughout our lives we come in contact with many people. Some are family members, but many are unrelated to us. Some are ordinary, but others make lasting impressions because their behavior is unusual. Think about one individual you know who has made an impression on you and the one event that caused the person to be memorable. Write a reality-based narration about the event and the person so that others may see both the event and the person as clearly as you.   While the narration may be basically factual, you may enrich it with imaginative details and interesting presentation. Do not stop writing. A timer will be set for 10 minutes. When it goes off you may write for two more minutes or stop writing. Write as many thoughts as you can.
