Other considerations Consumer products/lighting are high volume markets; X00,000’s sold each year. Potentially significant ramp up just through normal purchase behaviors. Capability to flexibly adjust demand is being built-in to meet other market needs/demands…DR hardware capability comes for free… But…Software/communications links to create specific DR functions not embedded due to lack of consistency from utilities….Mfrs. need a business case to spend a little $$ to enable functionality Non-energy benefits are primary drivers, DR functionality cannot jeopardize realization of these benefits Decision-makers are national or global; NW ability to influence is limited; we need partners
