So How Do I Prepare for Exams?

During the Semester / Year Start at the beginning of the course Take notes then review and organize on the same day Review at least once a week Prepare Print slides before lecture Take additional notes alongside slides Star or take note of slides your teacher emphasizes Take good notes Give yourself at least a week before a test to study for it. Make a schedule so that you can fit in time to study along with your other activities. Plan your Study time

During the Semester / Year Allocate material to study for every study session Start by studying what you find most difficult Make a summary of your notes so that you have something quick to refer to before the exam Plan what you will study during your study time Things the lecturer has emphasized are likely to come up on an exam A chance that questions which have come up in tutorials and quizzes will be repeated in final exam Anticipate what questions the instructor will ask

During the Semester / Year Review tests you have taken in the course Since exam questions are not released, ask your instructor to go over your previous exam papers with you Get Feedback Ask your lecturer for sample questions and style of questions which will come up on the exam. Get as much practice as possible Familiarize yourself with the structure and guidelines of the test
