Migrating Print Servers Verify that the new versions of the drivers are available Use built in tools… don’t re-invent the wheel Use Server Manager to Install Print Server and management tools on the Windows Server 2012 R2 machine Use the export\import capabilities in the tool. Once Migrated retire 2003 server Remove from the domain Shutdown and turn off (forever!!! ) In DNS add CNAME record to point your source server name to your target server name (you wont need to re-map printers!)
