Finding Locations In order to find the precise location of any place on earth we can use a grid system. Latitude and Longitude

Latitude The equator (0°) is the starting point for measuring latitude. Latitude lines run parallel to the equator. Latitude lines above the equator are marked with an N for north, while latitude lines running below the equator are labeled with an S for south.

Longitude The prime meridian (0°) is the starting point for measuring longitude. Longitude lines to the right of the prime meridian are marked E for east, and those on the left are marked W for west.
