What is a Character? The people, creatures or animals in a story; involved in the plot in one way or another. Creates interest in the story.

PROTAGONIST The central character in a story, drama or dramatic poem. Usually the action revolves around this character, who is involved in the main conflict and who usually changes after the climax of the plot.

ANTAGONIST A person or a force in society or nature that opposes the protagonist, or central character in a story or drama. The reader is generally not meant to sympathize with them.

Major vs. Minor Minor characters are still important to the story, they can serve as catalyst to the plot or even comic relief at times.
