DO NOW: Take out your homework Solve in your notebook

Objective(S): I will be able to: -apply my knowledge of the order of operations So that I can: evaluate numerical expressions. I will show I know it when: My group can successfully complete the Order of Operations write-around first. 6.EE.A.2c

Language Objective By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use the language domains of reading and writing. Students will read the math expression and then write the solution to show their understanding. They will show their understanding by successfully completing the write around relay using the solutions of the numerical expressions to move to the next expression. Academic math Language Vocabulary: Order of Operation, expression, evaluate, solve.

The rules we follow…

As a group, you will complete the Order of Operations write around. Person 1 will complete the first box independently. After completing the problem, they will pass the paper clockwise to the next person in their group. Person 2 will complete the second box independently, and pass it to the third person. This will continue until the final answer, which will be brought to the teacher to be checked. If correct, you may move onto the next level. If incorrect, you may work with your partners to find and fix the mistake.
