Background Introduction of the study object Aim Methodology Results Conclusion Future studies
Residential buildings and service sector represent 39% of Sweden's total primary energy use. The national energy goal reduce 20% untill 2020, 50% untill By renovation the energy usage of buildings can be lowered and this is of great importance to achieve of the national goal.
All the buildings were built during Municipal house company Stångåstaden. Building 23 was undergone a major renovation during Building 51 was also renovated but in a much simple level.
How have the energy issues been introduced and handled in the process? How has energy usage been changed after the renovation? Indoor thermal comfort according to simulation and questionnaire. How do the tenants think about the renovation and energy issues? Which challanges does the next renovation project have? Building Tenants Building as an energy system Decision makers
Case study Qualitative interview:11 decision makers; 11 tenants from both renovated(23 & 51) and unenovated buildings. Simulation: IDA ICE 4.0 Questionnaire
Simulation: Two apartments are simulated The results include: heat demand during the year Electricity usage per month PMV and PPD How will the heat demand and electricity use be affected when a common laundry room built instead of individual laundry rooms? How do the energy saving appliances affect the house holds heat demand and electricity use during every month? Questionnaire: An orderd questionnaire which is called My indoor climate- Min boendes miljö The questionnaires were sent out to some renovated buildings and also unrenovated buildings. The response rate was 53%. The questionnaire includes questions about the indoor climate of the house, its temperature, noise situation and air quality.
Simulation The average of annual heat demand is 40kWh/m 2 /yr. The average of the annual electricity demand is 18kWh/m 2 /yr. The PMV values of those two different apartments are all at around -0,5~0,5 which give a very good indication of thermal indoor climate. Instead of having a commen laudry room, the electricity demand will be reduced of about kWh/yr for the households but the heating demand will be highered for about 0.5 kWh/m2/yr. The class A household appliances will reduce the household electricity demand but also cause a higher heating demand. Questionnaire Comparisons of answers between different buildings. Renovated VS Not Renovated Exempel: The tenants from building23 are more satisfied with the indoor climate than from other buildings.
Winter period measurements will be started during January The model will be built completely. Comparison of the energy use parameters between the renovated building and one of the old buildings. The results will be at the building level. LCC is also planed to be adapted on the next stage.
