Three Branches of Government

Legislative Branch Judicial Executive Branch Government is divided into three different branches. They are the Executive branch, Legislative branch, and the Judicial Branch Legislative Branch Judicial Executive Branch

Legislative Branch Executive Branch Judicial Branch Makes The Laws Enforces The Laws Judicial Branch Interprets and Applies The Laws

The power of the government is separated between three branches to prevent any one branch from abusing power. This is called checks and balances. Each branch has its own power and a way to limit the power of the other branches.

National (Federal) Government Legislative Branch The legislative branch is headed by Congress. Congress makes laws for the nation, approves the budget, ant approves presidential appointees Executive Branch The executive branch is headed by the President. The President executes the law of the land, prepares the budge, appoints the cabinet officers and judges and manages the nations. Judicial Branch The judicial branch includes the Supreme and Federal Courts. They have the power of judicial review. They try cases involving federal and constitutional law. Supreme Court decides if a federal practice is discriminatory President Appoints Supreme Court Judge Congress makes laws for the nation, approves the budge, ant approves presidential appointees.
