Presentation transcript:

When Supermans father, Jor-El, discovered that a nuclear chain reaction would soon shatter the entire world of Krypton, he sent his unborn son in a vessel that would travel through space and head towards earth. Superman was born on Earth and discovered by Jonathan and Martha Kent who brought them to their farm Smallville, Kansas. As a baby, Superman had no powers and since he was defenseless, the Kents raised him themselves by the name of Clark. When he was 18, Clark learned his destiny was to be Superhero. He decided his powers would only be used to help others in trouble rather than using them for personal gain.

Superman's strength has a limit, but his strength is so great it has never been successfully measure. His body is virtually indestructible. Can hear sounds too faint to be detected by the normal human ear. Has "telescopic vision. Has "microscopic vision. Has "x-ray vision" (allows him to see through solid objects). Has "heat vision (power to generate heat). Since Superman is from Krypton, his cells act as living solar batteries that absorb massive amounts of energy to give him superhuman powers. Moves, reacts, and thinks faster than the speed of sound. Can defy gravity and fly through force of will. Can generate a force field that extends for a fraction of an inch around his body.

Weaknesses Superman is vulnerable to the radiation of Kryptonite (because it is from his native planet). It could kill him in minutes. Vulnerable to magic and to the psionic powers of some beings, such as Braniac. Needs to fill his lungs with air (before flying through outer space) every several hours. Led obstructs his X-ray vision ability.

Demographics Age: Late 20s to mid 30s throughout the comics. Sex: Male Married: To Lois Lane Education: Went to high school and college.

Geographics Lives in the city of Metropolis. During his adult life he lived in Clinton Apartments. Temporary moved in with Jimmy Olsen. After marrying Lois the couple moved to a larger apartment at Sullivan Place.

Psychographics Personality: Originally his personality was rough and destructive. As time went on however, he gained a strong sense of purpose, morality, selflessness, incorruptibility, modesty, fairness, compassion, and hope. It is easy to make connections to Superman because he has feelings for all living things despite the fact that he can shrug off bullets and bombs.

Rights & Profits DC comics and Warner Bros own rights and gain profits from different aspects of Supermans character. DC comics owns some of the important elements identified with the character, such as his ability to fly, vision powers, and the term Kryptonite. Eventually Warner Bros will lose all rights to Superman.

Marketing In the past Superman has been marketed through movies, action figures, action comics, video games, magazines, online, and more. To increase advertisement I would create a superman or DC comics clothesline. It would attract anyone from babies to adults in the country.
