Lesson 2: Components of Patient Lists In this lesson you will learn: Components of Patient Lists Patient List Toolbar Features

Overview of Patient Lists Patient Lists in PowerChart help you to easily organize and access large amounts of patient data. You can build and view patient lists based on location or provider relationship. You can group patients by categories and easily locate a patient’s chart rather than relying on a large single list. Some patient lists are populated by the system while others must be built manually. In either case, you decide which lists you want to be displayed. You can open a patient chart directly from a patient list, but you must first establish a relationship with the patient.

Accessing Patient Lists To access Patient Lists from within the Toolbar in PowerChart, click on the Patient List Button. Note: For some staff members (such as clinicians), Patient Lists will be the default screen in the Organizer.

Menu Command Many of the same commands that are listed as options on the PowerChart Toolbar are accessible from the Menu Command Patient List. While working in Patient Lists, we will primarily use the Patient List Toolbar.

Components of Patient Lists: Toolbar Patient Lists has a Patient List toolbar, which is displayed on the left side of the screen.
