Do something significant!

Italian Ancestors International Service Project Be part of the historic Italian Ancestors International Service Project

Help by making 140 years of Italian birth, marriage, and death records searchable for free online! All we need is a little bit of your time each week or month.

Volunteer and Start Now! FamilySearch.org/Italian-ancestors

Spread the Great News! FamilySearch and the National Archives of Italy (Direzione Generale per gli Archivi) have joined forces to provide free access to over 115 million birth, marriage, and death records from the Italian Civil Registration from 1800 through 1940.

Includes over 500 million names—up to 6 generations of Italian ancestors! The agreement is comprehensive—covering the entire civil registration of Italy, from every province. It will quickly become the largest and most useful collection for Italian genealogical research.

We can’t do it without you. 50,000 online volunteers are needed to make these historic Italian records searchable.

Start helping today! FamilySearch.org/Italian-ancestors
