Single Stock Fund (SSF)

Terminal Learning Objective Action: Identify Single Stock Fund Conditions: FM Leaders in a classroom environment working individually and as a member of a small group, using doctrinal and administrative publications, self-study exercises, personal experiences, practical exercises, handouts, and discussion Standard: Analysis includes: Single Stock Fund (SSF) within the Army Working Capital Fund (AWCF) SSF tenets and characteristics 2

Single Stock Fund What it is! Army initiative that tears down logistics and financial ownership barriers What it is not! A substitute for the Army’s Resource Allocation Process The end state for Logistics and Financial Information Technology Systems

Components of the AWCF Fund $6.4B Y12, Spit into Wholesale and Retail Ordnance 10% Information Services FY ** Sales 2% Depot Maintenance 18% Inventory Funded by the AWCF-SMA: Secondary Army Managed Items (Excluding Class V) Selected Non-Army Managed Items SMA Wholesale & Retail 70% $6.4B Y12, Spit into Wholesale and Retail 4

Asset Visibility SSF is a DoD business process aimed at improving warfighter support with worldwide access to stock and AWCF funding of Authorized Stockage List (ASL) supplies ASL supplies are maintained at the direct support maintenance level SSF also consolidates separate wholesale and retail elements into a single fund and simplifies the supply and financial processes 5

SSF Measurable Benefits SSF measurable benefits include: Inventory management, which allows the Army to redistribute excess AWCF inventory into a nationally managed fund Materiel readiness, which reduces the Customer Wait Time (CWT) while increasing customer volume AWCF credit, which is a single process that is stable, predictable, and simple; the goal is to issue credit to the customer within seven days from the turn-in to the AWCF Management tools, which provide increased access to key management data 6

The Four SSF Tenets Driving the Changes Single Point of Sale - Linking O&M Customers to the National System Single Credit Process - Eliminating current tiered credit systems Integrated Requirements Determination - National visibility and decision-making National Maintenance Management - Fixing the right stuff, right place, right standard Tearing down ownership barriers Setting conditions for other process & organizational changes Moving the Army towards standardization 7
