Identity: How do we judge people based on their looks, occupation, age, gender, or ethnicity?

Directions Look through the Powerpoint slides. On a piece of paper, write what you think about each person/group of people in the picture. What do you imagine they would be like? What kind of people do you think they would hang out with? Write as much as possible for each slide.

Discussion Questions What kinds of words did you use to describe people? Compare two very different descriptions you wrote. Why did you describe these people differently? What kinds of things did you see that led you to make different judgments about these people? We all make judgments about other people, including strangers. What kinds of things do you look for in strangers to decide “who they are”?
