Investigating Human Traits Activity #54 Investigating Human Traits

Activity 54: Investigating Human Traits White Space ?: Who do you look like in your family? Why? (3-4 sentences) Challenge Question: How much variation is shown in our class? Background: Read page D-4. Vocabulary: Heredity: the study of how genes are passed down from one person to another (genetics) Characteristic: larger categories that create human variation (like eye color) Trait: different versions of a characteristic (like blue eyes)

Activity 54: Investigating Human Traits Materials: Read over the list on p D-5 Procedure: Read p D-5 to D-7and check off if you understand. Data: See Student Sheets 54.1 and 54.2 and graph.

Activity 54: Investigating Human Traits Analysis Questions: Answer questions #1-4 on page D-8 in your lab notebook. COMPLETE SENTENCES!!! Conclusion: How does our class show variation in traits? Which characteristics showed a lot of variation? Which ones showed little variation? Notes to Self: Complete bar graphs for each characteristic (skip arm span and height).
