Simpler Systems Reporting Pilot

Financial Reporting The Simpler Systems pilot evaluation is being conducted to improve financial data reporting on campus. Creating new mechanisms for University-wide financial reporting was a key recommendation made by Vice President Ryan Nesbit’s transition team this past year. During this pilot phase, we are exploring ways to meet this urgent campus need. The system is intended for a variety of users, including deans, directors, faculty, business office, etc. Based on a recommendation from the Business Services Advisory Group (BSAG) to improve access to data and “all sides” of a transaction, data access through Simpler is not restricted by department/unit.

Data Data includes fiscal year 2014 and 2015 2015 data is updated nightly The pilot is not intended to cover all areas of financial data, and includes: Financial summaries Accounting transactions Campus mail Payroll transactions Additional data elements may be added during the pilot phase

Pilot Evaluation The pilot will run through June to allow sufficient time for testing the Simpler Systems reporting portal (http://simplerpilot.uga.edu) We encourage participants to engage in testing the software and providing our team with your feedback.  We also encourage you to share this information with your colleagues and get their feedback on the tool.   Questions can be directed to Sharon Thelen at slthelen@uga.edu

Feedback Enhancements to the portal will be made based on your feedback so we encourage you to think about the full extent of your reporting needs. The Simpler tool is being evaluated as a potential replacement for existing systems such as ARROW reporting and other reporting which may currently be provided through the mainframe or QMF. Information gathered from the pilot will also inform our future reporting tools and needs. A survey will be made available in May and again in late June to receive your feedback.
