Project Summary Aim: Achieved a significant reduction in energy used in urban freight transport by promoting Delivery and Servicing Plans (DSPs). TRAILBLAZERs transferred knowledge and experience to the PATHFINDERS. User Group and ASSIMILATORS learned from the experience of others Project Coordinator: TTR. Background Traffic causes problems: high levels of energy consumption, pollution, noise, congestion and safety hazards There are very few initiatives to increase the efficiency of the freight transport systems in urban areas DSPs can reduce energy used for deliveries. (Växjö 51% ). Objectives and Main Steps (1) Strategic objective: to reduce energy used in urban freight transport through public sector policy interventions. Specific objectives: Implementation and development of DSPs by the 4 PATHFINDERs. More than achieved a 10% reduction in energy use in PATHFINDER cities as a result of DSPs.
