Do Now Heading: Does it Circuit? Pick up papers from the front table Open you journal to the next clean page

Will the lightbulb light up? Does it Circuit? Will the lightbulb light up? Make a claim: I think _________________________________. Use 2 pieces of evidence from your labs about how lightbulbs light: 1) 2) Reasoning: How does your evidence support your claim? Make sure to write in complete sentences

MATERIALS

Procedures Draw the general circuit set up in your journal With an arrow indicate where you will place the items you brought Pick an item to test Write the item in your data table Test the item Write in your data table if the item allowed the lightbulb to light

Did the light bulb light? Data Table Object Did the light bulb light?

Insulators V Conductors Insulators: Electrons are not able to flow easily. It is hard to create an electric current Semiconductors: Electrons are able to flow. It is still slightly difficult for the electrons to flow so the charge will not be as strong. Conductors: Electrons are easily able to flow thorough the material to create an electrical charge.

Categorize your materials Go back to your materials list. You will identify what the 5 different materials from your backpack are. If they are an insulator put the letter i next to them If they are a conductor put the letter c next to the If they are a semiconductor put the letter s next to them

Assessment Probes Answer probes 9 and 10 using notes from your labs. These will be due at the end of the period. Turn them into the bucket once you are finished DO THESE INDIVIDUALLY!!!!
