From DG ENV perspective DIMESA 2006 4.1 View from ENV 15/06/2006 From DG ENV perspective the implementation of the Technical Arrangement on Data Centres is a milestone in order to fulfil the following objectives: a knowledged-based decision making: provision of high-quality data and information, timely available, to policy makers (European, national, regional, local & global) rationalise and improve the efficiency of data collection and management system (move away from archaic reporting systems) increase the effectiveness of EC to timely respond to the Member States vis-à-vis effectiveness of policy implementation Director’s Meeting on Environment Statistics and Accounts - DIMESA, 15 June 2006
