These teaching strategies are named as Models of Teaching (MoT) by Bruce Joyce A strategy is defined as an organized system of instruction based upon learning theory. They are all validated by research.

Selection Criteria 1. They accomplish the common goals of schools. 2. They include the major philosophical and psychological orientations toward teaching and learning. 3. They have sound theoretical basis.

Selection Criteria 4. They have long histories of practice. 5. There is evidence that they work— get high student achievement. 6. They are versatile—suitable for varied levels of learners and for different learning situations and subject areas.
