中国医疗制度 Medical System

中国医疗制度 The medical expenses in China are much lower (used to be free some 10 - 20 years ago); A lot of people don’t have health insurance; those who have don’t pay as much as in America; People don’t have their own physicians or doctors. They go to a hospital each time they need professional help, and they don’t need to make an appointment to see a doctor, but they may need to get up early to make sure they can get to see one, since a doctor can only see certain number of patients each day; All doctors work at hospitals, which can be very crowded and some doctors are very impatient; There are usually only specialists at hospitals; the patients need to decide what type of specialists they want to see; In some places you need to tip the doctors;

中国医疗制度 Patients are responsible for keeping a book with his or her history in it and any other records; doctors or hospitals don’t have these records; There are only specialists at hospitals; the patients need to decide what type of specialists they want to see; In some places you need to tip the doctors; Doctors and nurses work in a very fast and efficient way and they never chat with patients.

怎样看病 Go to a hospital and decide which specialist you want to see, taking the book and other records of your history that you think you need to show a doctor; You go to a receptionist to get a number; Wait outside the doctor’s office for your number to be called; When it’s your turn, the nurse will take you to the doctor, who will usually first read your records. The doctor may tell you what type of examinations he or she thinks you need. You pay first and do the examinations; You get the results of the examinations and show them to the doctor you saw, and this time you don’t need a number to see him or her; The doctor will diagnose and order certain treatments for you. You need to pay before you are served.
