1983: Have been installed during STS-7.

1984: On discovery during STS-41-D 1984: On discovery during STS-41-D. Also used on Atlantis first during STS-61-B.

1986: Canadarm 302 was lost. A Canadarm was next used during STS-49.

Purpose: Canadarm 1 also known as the Shuttle Remote Manipulator System (SRMS,) A mechanical arm used on the Space Shuttle orbiters.

Canadarm2 and Mobile Base System Specifications

Xinhua China Washington April 17th The space shuttle endeavor which has lifted-off on 19th, has got the newest generation of mechanical arm. It has become a new member in the international space station, leading human beings to investigate further space.

Used websites: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadarm http://www.google.com.hk/search?q=Canadarm&newwindow=1&safe=strict&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=K0B6UpLgGYeSiQfh5YGQBw&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=1366&bih=673 http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/station/structure/elements/mss.html

Analyze 1.How did you decide to use the information resources that you did? A:To make it easier for our classmates to understand our presentation, 2.Why is it important to record the source of your information? A:Because the information were collected from other people’s work, recording the source is a kind of respect to the original author.

Conclude and Apply 1.How did the invention that you investigated affect or change motion? A:The Canadarm is used to maintain the subassemblies up on the space station. 2.Is the invention still use today? Explain your answer. A:No.It’s on display now, but the space agency is working hard to build a new generation.
