Stable Isotope Analyses of Bioactive Trace Metals

Cd Isotopes in Seawater Isotope data provides more insights into the marine cycling of Cd than are available from Cd concentrations alone Surface waters with highly fractionated Cd isotope compositions are depleted in nutrients (PO4) –> Cd isotopes may be a useful proxy for nutrient utilization Wish list – combined stable isotope-concentration analyses across productivity gradients for several bioactive trace metals (Cd, Zn, Fe, …), in addition to GEOTRACES key parameters need large sample volumes dissolved & particulate phases
