An Inferencing Mystery Who Took My Hammer?! An Inferencing Mystery Candy Hahn

POLICE REPORT Bartman Ringolly reported his wooden hammer missing on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. Bartman claims that his hammer was in his garage on top of his workbench cabinet when he left to fetch donuts from Donut Heaven. When Bartman returned, his work stool was overturned, there were wet tire tracks on the floor, and his hammer was missing.

Eye Witness Report Duane Spuds was walking his dog passed Bartman’s house around 11:00 A.M. on Saturday. He heard a crash and someone cry out in pain.

The Suspects #1. Jamie Ringolly – Bartman’s oldest son, 17. Jamie enjoys building projects with his dad, though he wants his own set of tools. Jamie also loves to ride his bike. Jamie was at home on Saturday until 11:30 A.M.

The Suspects #2. Sheila Ringolly, Bartman’s daughter, 12 years old. Sheila hates loud hammering sounds – especially while she’s sleeping late on weekends. Sheila has a bike, but she rarely rides it. Sheila was at home all day on Saturday.

The Suspects #3 Jacky Ringolly, Bartman’s youngest child, seven years old. Jacky rides his bike at every opportunity. He likes to help his dad and Jamie with their building projects. Jacky is secretly making a birdhouse as a Mother’s Day surprise for his mom. Jacky was home all day on Saturday.

The Suspects #4. Lauren Ringolly – Bartman’s wife, mother of Jamie, Sheila, and Jacky. Lauren has been asking Bartman for weeks to hang her new painting in the hallway, and she has run out of patience. Lauren was home until 10:30 A.M. She returned home at 12:00 and was there for the rest of the day.

WHO TOOK THE HAMMER?! SUSPECT TALL or SHORT HAS TIRES MOTIVE Jamie Sheila Jacky Lauren

It was Jacky, Bartman’s youngest child! He wanted to finish his surprise birdhouse while no one was around, so he rode his bike through the wet grass and into the garage. Since the hammer was out of Jacky’s reach, he climbed on the stool to grab it and ended up knocking over the stool and hurting his knee. It was Jacky’s cry that was heard by the eye witness!
