Locating Fingerprints
Visible Prints Visible prints are usually very easy to find because they are distinct and can be viewed with the naked eye.
Latent Prints Latent prints can be located using a device called the Reflected Ultraviolet Imaging System (RUVIS) Shines ultraviolet light on a surface and when it hits the oil and sweat of a print, it will be reflected back to the device where it will be converted into visible light making it obvious to the naked eye. Once found, it’s time to be developed!
